Today marks the beginning of National School Psychology Week! 🎉
This week, we’re recognizing the school psychologists who work hard to address students’ unique needs. From managing behavior to supporting emotional growth, their work impacts students every day.

'Tis the season for sharing and caring! Let's help our fellow E-Hawks and their families during this Holiday season! If you have a donation, please contact the Middle/High School office or find a Middle/High School student to bring to their homeroom class.
Donations will then be distributed on Tuesday, Nov. 26th. Check the flyer for more details!

Don't Forget that we open THIS WEEKEND for our fall production of Rodger & Hammerstein's "Cinderella". The cast has put in an enormous amount of time and effort into this fabulous musical, and we don't want you to miss out! You can get your tickets on Bound or pay the $5 cash at the door. All seats are assigned when tickets are purchased.

West is Grateful for many things!

To keep our teams and clubs strong and foster personal growth in students, it’s essential to uphold policies that set clear standards – like maintaining positive school attendance.
✅ Our district policy for co-curricular participation requires a student to be at school for the entire day which precedes the activity in which they will participate.
✅ If more than 15 minutes tardy to school, the student will not be allowed to participate in any extracurricular activities that day.
✅ If not in school the morning of the activity, the student must be excused with a doctor’s note and be in attendance during the final three class periods of the school day to be eligible to participate in after school or evening activities.
Be sure to review and familiarize yourself with the Parent/Student Handbooks for full policies and exceptions. Let’s support our students’ academic AND extracurricular success!

Another day of being grateful at West!

West is grateful for many things.! In the month of November we will take some time to spotlight these things.

West Elementary School has served our community for more than 70 years, but the building’s age, configuration, and condition present many daily challenges for young students and staff.
On Tuesday, voters in the Emmetsburg Community School District will consider a $29.75 million bond referendum. If it receives at least 60% approval, these funds will be used to construct a PK-4 school at a new site east of Iowa Lakes Community College.
The estimated tax impact of this bond would be $2.54 per year on $1,000 of taxable property value. For a home with an assessed value of $150,000, this amounts to $13.69 per month (or $164.30 annually).
A commercial property with an assessed value of $350,000 would see a tax impact of about $66.70 per month. For agricultural property, based on the average assessed value of $1,749 per acre in Palo Alto County, the annual tax impact would equate to $3.19 per acre.
More information about this proposal, including answers to FAQs and conceptual plans, is available at https://www.emmetsburgbond.org.

Daylight saving time will end on Sunday morning. Please take a quick moment to set your clocks back an hour! ⏰
