Students: 

758 students, in a School District that includes Emmetsburg, Cylinder and Curlew.
Fourteen percent (14.4%) of our students open enrolled into the district from other
surrounding communities in the county and from surrounding counties. On the most recent Iowa Youth Survey, 96% of Emmetsburg students responded that they perceive our school as a safe place. Eighty eight percent (88%) of high school students are active in
activities.

15.5 average years of experience, 40% with Masters degrees, 1:13 student to teacher ratio

Academics:
West Elementary- SWV preschool, C4K, computer cart per grade,
Middle School- Middle school concept with daily PLC
High school, 98% graduation rate, average of 14 college credits at graduation, career academy,
ACT Reading scores consistently above state average, 1:1 laptop program.

Modern facilities:
2014 - Addition to Elementary building: office, entry, lunchroom, gym, kitchen, newly
remodeled library, addition of two classrooms
2009 - Middle school classrooms, gym, locker rooms
2009 - 620 seat auditorium,
2003 - Addition for kindergarten.
1994 - High school addition for wrestling room and weight room
Continuously updated sports facilities: all new weight room equipment, high school score
boards, indoor batting cage, indoor golf simulator, softball score board, all weather track update,
softball and baseball irrigation systems and backstops, football goal posts.

Outstanding Extra Curricular Programs:
Concert Choir - 25 straight years of division I ratings
Show Choir - 31 straight years of Division I ratings
Fall Musical - many years of sellout crowds
Band - Marching Band, Concert, Jazz, & Pep Bands
Football - one of the state’s most storied programs, state record playoff appearances
Wresting - one of the state’s most successful programs
Girls Basketball - one state title and many state tournament appearances
Baseball - one state title one third place.
Boys Golf - one state title several state qualifiers.
Cheerleading - one state title and very active in state events.
Softball - state runner up, seventh place and several state qualifiers.

Girls Golf - fourth place and many state qualifiers.
